Our story

Tourism in Romagnastarted  on 3^rd July 1834.

The tourist industrywas officially launched under the Papal government and the bathingestablishment were created thanks to Count Baldini and Claudio Tintori, fromthe Medici family; this is the reason why part of the promenade is called“Lungomare Tintori”.

In 1868 the city ofRimini decided to buy the bathing establishment, then a couple of years laterthe old facilities were demolished to build the Kursaal, a modern buildingbigger than the first one, which was opened on 1^st July 1873.

In 1906  started the construction of The GrandHotel,  the most beautiful and luxuryhotel in Rimini. So the city became an international tourist destination.

In 1926, underFascism,  some summer residential areas(called “Colonie”) were built in order to accommodate children affected byhealth problems and Mussolini set the good example himself, by spending hisholidays on the Romagna coast with his family.

At the end of 1944,after 396 bombings, just 2 buildings out of 100 were still intact. In spite ofall in 1945 Rimini tour operators were surprised by the high number of touristsand decided to to renovate and upgrade the area. In 1947 the number of visitorswas growing, especially foreign visitors.

In the 50`s the numberof visitors grew from 1 to 6 milions, thanks to the wide range of hotelservices and the warm hospitality and welcome offered.

Our story startsduring the 60`s, when the coast boasted 3.000 hotels, 1.000 bathing boxes and15.000 beach umbrellas.

In this setting, andprecisely in 1967, two young brothers, Adele and Giuseppe Tonni, decided torent the few rooms they had in their detached house in Viale Vespucci, andsplit their tasks: Adele was the cook and Giuseppe worked at the front office.

In the following yearsthey would expand the house and will transform it in a proper family-ownedhotel on 3 floors.

In 1997 Mauro, Adele`sson, take place in the management and in 2007 the hotel celebrated its 40^thbirthday.
